Commentary
Karachi win and they've points on the board. The remaining four teams compete against each other in tomorrow's double-header. Join us for all the action. For now, cheers and bye..
Saud Shakeel | Quetta Gladiators Captain - I think our start was rusty. They played better cricket and we were second best. But it's just the first match and we can improve. I have watched Shamyl since long, he has been so good and his batting is powerful. My wicket was a turning point, we should have taken the game deep.
David Warner | Karachi Kings Captain - I think at the beginning 170 was par, but we lost a few wickets in the middle due to poor shot selections including mine. The spinners bowled really well to get us back into the game, though (based on the Gladiators' start). I wasn't concerned, it was more about how you execute, bowl dots, keep them to singles and the odd boundary. I had Salman and Agha to bowl some off-spin and also had options with the other bowlers. The preparations were good and the boys are looking forward to a paddle game tomorrow.
Moeen Ali | Player of the Match - Two very good spinners and the wicket wasn't as good as it was at the start. You needed to hit good cricketing shots and avoid panicking. I'm pretty calm; I know when I need to go, but I just need to get a handle on the situation. It was different, he's a world-class spinner (on Usman Tariq), breaks your rhythm and I just delayed my shots (against him). There was a bit of turn and grip at the start and then I went back of the length later on. It's nice to get points on the board, it's very early but a win this early is good. 22:22 Local Time, 17:22 GMT, 22:52 IST: A good win for the Karachi Kings, but the Gladiators will wonder how things went after a start worth 79 runs in 7 overs. Shamyl Hussain's 24-ball 52 set them on their way in the chase and he received strong support from Saud Shakeel (25-ball 33) as the Gladiators threatened to cruise home with ease. The dismissal of the former saw them lose their way. Rilee Rossouw and Ben McDermott made brisk 25s, but Hasan Nawaz struggled and took all the momentum off the chase. Four wickets for the impressive Hasan Ali while the others chipped in with useful wickets. Stay tuned for the presentations..

Hasan Ali to Ahmed Daniyal, out Caught by Moeen Ali!! A massive swipe across the line, a hige top-edge and Moeen circles around it at backward point to complete the catch. Third wicket of the over and Hasan has all but steered his side to victory. Was a slower off-cutter and Daniyal was looking to slog it onto the on-side, caught the top-edge and went a mile up in the air. Ahmed Daniyal c Moeen Ali b Hasan Ali 4(3) [4s-1],
Hasan Ali to Ahmed Daniyal, THATS OUT!! Caught!!
