Commentary
That's all from this action-packed encounter. Back tomorrow for more. Until then, it's goodbye!
Shaheen | Lahore captain: Simple plan was to go and play your own shots. Shafique chipped in with a really good innings. We have top bowlers, Fizz is here, Haris is here, Ubaid is doing well and Sikandar is number one allrounder. Not a tough loss or anything like that. That was a very good game (their previous match against Karachi Kings). Last-over finish.
Turner | Multan captain: Weren't at our absolute best in the first half of the game. Fortunate thing was that we kept fighting. Frustrating thing is there were things in our control like no balls and wide. Have to tidy that up. It's not the end of the world when you lose a game. Need to have a good hard look at ourselves. Need to find a way to restrict opposition sides.
Mohammad Naeem | POTM: Had a simple plan to play our game. There's hard work behind everything.
11.29pm local: Was one-way traffic until the last couple of overs when Turner started smashing it everywhere. It was too late by then. Comfortable win for Lahore Qalandars who were electric with the bat, racking up 185 in just 13 overs after the match was reduced due to rain. Naeem, Emon and Shafique - their top three did the majority of the scoring and took the game away in a hurry. Multan were just never in the chase. Stay tuned for the presentations.
End of Over 0: N/A runs, N/A wkts
Sikandar Raza to Ashton Turner, SIX, uses his long reach and launches it over long-on to bring up fifty. Personal milestone for Turner but his team has fallen comfortably short
Sikandar Raza to Mohammad Nawaz, no ball, 1 run, fired into the blockhole, squeezed down to long-off but Raza has overstepped
Mohammad Nawaz, left handed bat, comes to the crease
Sikandar Raza to Arafat Minhas, out Caught by (sub)Dunith Wellalage!! Round-arm and pushed through flat, Minhas miscues it in the air and Wellalage makes no mistake at deep midwicket. Arafat Minhas c (sub)Dunith Wellalage b Sikandar Raza 25(11) [4s-1 6s-2]
Sikandar Raza to Arafat Minhas, THATS OUT!! Caught!!
Sikandar Raza to Arafat Minhas, 2 runs, to deep mid-wicket, swiped across the line and there's a diving effort in the deep. He flicks it back and it's stopped by the converging fielder who also dives across for a flick-back. Third umpire having a look to see if either of them was in contact with the cushions
Sikandar Raza to Arafat Minhas, FOUR, pulled away in the air, falls wide of deep midwicket who ends up overrunning it
Sikandar Raza to Ashton Turner, 1 run, lofted down the ground, cut off in the deep
Sikandar Raza to Ashton Turner, FOUR, good length on off, swiped across the line and falls short of the fielder in the deep. Fielder committed himself to the catch as he ran in and eventualled failed to stop the boundary as well
Raza has 40 to defend in the final over. Will probably retire if he fails to do so.
Sikandar Raza [1.0-0-15-0] is back into the attack
End of Over 0: N/A runs, N/A wkts
Ubaid Shah to Ashton Turner, 1 run, again hits a hard length, the ball skids through and Turner drags the pull to deep backward square
Ubaid Shah to Ashton Turner, no run, zips through off a good length outside off, Turner plays over the top of the ball, swing and a miss as he tries slapping it hard
Ubaid Shah to Ashton Turner, SIX, short of length into the body, pulled flat and hard, clears deep backward square. Need 7 more of these in 8 balls
Ubaid Shah to Ashton Turner, FOUR, banged in short outside off, Turner uses the pace and ramps it over short third
